Membership Committee
This group focuses on attracting, welcoming, integrating, engaging, and retaining members of the temple. The group meets approximately once a month, and its members contact people who express an interest in joining the temple, streamline and refine the procedures associated with completing the initial membership application, and plan events to introduce and welcome new members. The committee organizes religious, social, and cultural events throughout the year to strengthen the ties that existing members have to the temple community.
Caring Circle Committee
This group offers support services to our temple community during periods of illness, isolation, and/or bereavement. Services include assistance with transportation (to temple, doctor’s appointments, etc.); grocery shopping; friendly phone calls; visits to homes, hospitals, rehab centers, or nursing homes; emergency meals; sending caring notes and cards; and other assistance as needed. A list of volunteers is maintained, who are occasionally called upon to provide assistance as needed.
Religious School Advisory Committee
This group has been formed to promote a quality Jewish education in our temple’s religious school by strengthening the involvement of parents, students, and teachers. The Advisory Committee reviews the school curriculum, lends aide to teachers, the RS director, and serves as an advisory support system on policy changes.
Social Action Committee
Mission The Social Action Committee exists to provide the Congregants of Temple B'nai Israel with opportunities to practice tikkun olam ("repairing the world").
