Shabbat Services

sarah and cantor

We offer Shabbat worship services on Friday evenings.

On the first, third, and fourth Fridays of each month, Shabbat services begin at 7:00 p.m.   In 2013-14, services on the first and third Fridays are led by our student rabbi, Matthew Zerwekh.  Fourth Friday services are led by synagogue associate Patty Ressler-Billion.

On the second Friday of each month, Shabbat services begin at 6:00 p.m., are led by synagogue associate Michael Tanoff, and are followed by a community potluck meal open to all (October through May).  During the summer months (June through September), services are followed by a shared meal at a local restaurant.

In 2013-14, should a fifth Friday occur, there will be no services at temple.  On fifth Fridays, members are encouraged to celebrate Shabbat at home and to share their celebrations with other members and friends.

Our Shabbat services are always open to visitors; we invite you to come and experience Temple B'nai Israel!
